In this chapter, Claire explores the grimy city of Rathpike, mingling with citizens and occasionally getting into trouble, such as when an unsavory character takes advantage of her getting inebriated at a local pub. Once she gets to the Undercity, a complex maze of underground passages and sewers, things get even more dire, as she is duped by a couple of lecherous urchins and then has to humiliate herself before a perverted mercenary.
